Planning, quality and values

Our history

We begin to tell you a story that begins in the second half of the 19th century, when the Masina family was involved in the horse trade, as a life, carriage and work animal. Since then, this story has continued its path of growth and evolution, taking on a new form. In 1929 the first authorisation to sell horse meat marked an important turning point, a change of pace that after two generations in 1978 led to the establishment of Naba Carni.

A reality for 5 generations committed to carrying on the business of slaughtering, processing and marketing horse meat according to precise values, in the name of high quality and transparency along the entire supply chain.

What has distinguished Naba Carni from the very beginning is the great attention paid to the market, to consumers but also to the animal, hence the decision to change the selection approach by going directly to their natural habitat, adapting and respecting their needs: an initial expansion in Europe in 2000, with the establishment of MKZ Sp.Z o.o. in Rawicz, Poland, was followed by Argentina where in 2005 Solemar Alimentaria S.A was established in Chimpay, Río Negro.

An evolution at the basis of which remains the will to remain faithful to the original intentions, i.e. to provide the best possible product against a constant propensity for development at all stages of production. A propensity that in 2013 led to the establishment of Masina Holding, head of the company group based in Brescia, and in 2016 of Europe Meat International in Resana (TV).

And today? Today, the story of Naba Carni does not stop, but rather looks to the future, strengthened by an intrinsic innovative drive wisely channelled according to three company principles: planning, quality and values.
